Message from the Chief
I would first and foremost like to thank God and my family for standing by me in my career as a law-enforcement officer. We as a community know the hardships that we face every day such as crime, bad economy and poor education. These three things go hand in hand and one thing that they all have in common is they produce victims. We as citizens have to come together and fight against these three catalyst to provide our town and society with a calm and a reassuring presence showing that we can live without the threat of being victimized. We as a whole need to communicate with one another, our community and to law-enforcement, our problems by meeting with community leaders in public forums such as crimewatch and town council meetings.
I, along with our community can stand together and move forward to make Gaston a better place to raise our children, but it comes from us all working together. Thank you for this opportunity and I promise to work hard to make this community a safe environment for all. It’s time for resident’s to once more be proud of where they call home.
OFFICERS NEED TO UNDERSTAND AND SENSE THE NOBLE PURPOSE AND MEANING OF LAW-ENFORCEMENT; A VOCATION OF SELFLESS SERVICE, COMPASSION AND DOING GOOD FOR OTHERS
IT IS THE MISSION OF THE GASTON POLICE DEPARTMENT TO SERVE ALL PEOPLE WITH RESPECT, FAIRNESS AND COMPASSION. WE ARE COMMITTED TO IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF ALL CITIZENS WITHIN THE TOWN OF GASTON BY REDUCING FEAR OF CRIME AND BEING VICTIMIZED BY PROSECUTING THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO VICTIMIZE. OUR MISSION WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY COMBINING EFFECTIVE AND PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY POLICING STRATEGIES WITH AGGRESSIVE CRIMINAL ENFORCEMENT OF LOCAL AND STATE LAWS.
